SAMOAN SERENITY MEETING FORMAT
“Talofa” and welcome to the Samoan Serenity Group Meeting. This is an open meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. We are glad you are here - especially newcomers. In keeping with our singleness of purpose and our 3rd Tradition, “The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking”, we ask to please confine our discussion to our problems with alcohol.
This is also a bilingual meeting, in English and Samoan. Readings, prayers and shares may be conducted in Samoan, or in a combination if you wish.
Presently, we are an online Zoom group, meeting at 4 PM Tuesdays and 11 AM Saturdays, American Samoa time. ( GMT-11 )
My name is __________, and I am an alcoholic. After a moment of
silence, please join me recite the Serenity Prayer. ( English or Samoan )
I have asked __________ to read the “ AA Preamble “
I have asked __________ to read “ HOW IT WORKS” or “ MORE ABOUT ALCOHOLISM”
I have asked __________ to read the “ TWELVE TRADITIONS”
“With anonymity being the foundation of all our affairs, we remind you
that everything you see here and hear here, please let them remain
here. HERE, HERE.
( Check and Welcome Visitors and Newcomers, 30 days or less of sobriety .)
Is there anyone celebrating an AA Milestone? ( 30, 60, 90 days, 6 or 9 months )
Is there anyone celebrating an AA birthday?
To show that the program works, let’s have a show of hands for
everyone with a year or more of sobriety.
If you have had a drink or drug in the last 24 hours, when called on,
please state your name and pass. If you need some help, or just need
to talk to someone, please hang around after the meeting.
This is an hour-long tag meeting, please tag the next person after you
share. Please limit your sharing to around 3 minutes, so as to allow
others who would like to share. You will be asked to wrap it up, if
necessary. Also, please be respectful of others while they share, and
NO cross talk.
Does anyone have a TOPIC for today’s meeting?
FIRST ( 1st ) TUESDAY of the month is the Big Book Reading & Discussion Meeting.
Sharing is now open. Does Anyone have a burning desire to Share?
Check available time to ensure everyone has a chance to share…
Thank You Everyone for YOUR Shares tonight. Hang around after the
meeting to chat or get an answer to any question you may have.
Please join me recite the AA Responsibility Statement. “ I am
responsible when anyone reaches out for help. I want the hand of AA
always to be there. And for that, I am responsible”.
Are there any AA Announcements? How about any other 12 STEP related
announcements?
Again, I’d like to thank all visitors and newcomers for joining us
today. Please come again or maybe stay and be part of our fellowship.
Congratulations to the milestone and Birthday celebrants.
A Gracious Fa’afetai Tele to all the readers.. And Finally, to the
co-hosts for keeping our meeting safe. Thank you All for your service.
